Worldwide product innovation awards
Celebrating the world’s most innovative packaging & container products
Shaping the future of containment and material science – where protection meets environmental responsibility. The DaVinci Awards® for Product celebrates the breakthroughs in polymer chemistry, smart casing, and sustainable design that preserve goods while safeguarding our planet. Put your material or packaging innovation forward for a shot at global recognition.
how have you excelled?
At The DaVinci Awards® for Product, we are hunting for the materials and vessels that are rewriting the rules of how products are protected, transported, and unboxed.
Packaging is a vital touchpoint for global supply chains and consumer experiences alike, and this category honors the designs that balance durability with ecological awareness.
We are looking for entries that push the boundaries of what a container can do – from biodegradable polymers and compostable food wraps to rugged, reusable industrial crates and smart, sensor-enabled shipping boxes.
Whether you have developed an ingenious structural layout that eliminates the need for plastic tape, a formula that extends the shelf-life of fresh produce without chemical additives, or a lightweight resin that drastically lowers shipping emissions, we want to celebrate your achievement.
If your product represents a leap forward in waste reduction, material efficiency, or functional beauty, a DaVinci Award® is your chance to shine.

Tell us what makes you stand out
This section centers on the technical advancements in material creation and structural architecture. We look for entries that have solved critical physics or chemical challenges to deliver superior containment solutions.
Polymer breakthroughs: Creating alternative materials that match the tensile strength, clarity, and moisture-barrier properties of traditional petroleum-based plastics while remaining entirely compostable. Mono-material architecture: Engineering a multi-layered pouch or container using only a single type of plastic, making the entire product easily recyclable without requiring complex separation. Mass reduction: e.g., Utilizing advanced molding techniques to thin out container walls without compromising structural integrity or stackability during transport.Nominees may focus on how their innovation improves the end-user experience, protects the enclosed product, or simplifies the logistics chain.
Intuitive access: e.g., Designing closures that are easy to open for individuals with limited mobility or arthritis, while remaining completely secure against accidental spills. Preservation: Structural or material innovations that shield sensitive contents from light, oxygen, or impact – significantly reducing product spoilage and waste. Unboxing experience: Designing retail or e-commerce packaging that eliminates “wrap frustration” through tool-free opening, clean aesthetics, and integrated return functionality. We honor the trailblazing products that are driving the global transition toward a circular economy and challenging traditional ‘take-make-waste’ industrial habits.
Systemic circularity: e.g., Developing a closed-loop container system that fundamentally shifts a brand or industry away from single-use habits toward a highly efficient return-and-wash model. Category reinvention: Reimagining a traditionally waste-heavy staple – like liquid laundry detergent bottles or single-use beverage rings – into an entirely new, waste-free product format. Sourcing revolution: Introducing packaging derived from agricultural waste, ocean plastics, or captured carbon emissions, altering what the market considers a ‘premium’ raw material.Product Awards: Optional Sample Submission
In order to showcase your product to our judging team in the fullest, we accept product samples. This helps our judges test your product, and afford it a more detailed write-up should you win an award.
The Product Itself
Gives our judges a ‘hands on’ opportunity to test and evaluate the product.
A Product Demo
Send a recording of the product in action to give a feel for the product in use.
Guides & Materials
User guides, brochures, or other materials can help judges visualize the product in action.
Product samples of any kind are not a requirement, and those that do not provide one will not be penalized. All samples are withheld, and you must pay all shipping fees and relevant taxes. Indicate on your submission form if you would like to submit a sample, and our team will assist.
