Worldwide product innovation awards
Celebrating the world’s most innovative mining, metals, energy & utilities products
Powering the bedrock of global infrastructure – where resource optimization meets industrial scale. The DaVinci Awards® for Product honors the rugged machinery, smart grid systems, and extraction breakthroughs that fuel civilization and manage critical raw materials. Submit your heavy industry innovation today to gain global recognition for technical excellence.
how have you excelled?
At The DaVinci Awards® for Product, we are looking for the heavy-duty hardware and industrial systems that are transforming how we extract, refine, and distribute the world’s energy and raw materials.
Operating in the resources and utility sectors demands an uncompromising focus on safety, efficiency, and reliability under the harshest physical conditions. We welcome nominations from across the industrial landscape – whether you are manufacturing smart grid distribution hardware, developing high-efficiency metal smelting components, or building remote extraction equipment designed for deep-underground or offshore environments.
We want to see world-class examples of optimized resource throughput, advanced metallurgical durability, or the integration of autonomous digital systems into heavy machinery.
If your product has lowered operational risks, reduced resource waste during extraction, or established a new global benchmark for utility reliability, your innovation belongs on our stage.

This section targets the profound mechanical and materials engineering required to endure extreme pressure, heat, abrasion, and environmental stress while maximizing resource output.
Durability: e.g., Developing proprietary alloys or composite coatings that extend the operational lifespan of high-wear parts like drill bits or slurry pumps, reducing costly downtime. Thermal or kinetic efficiency: e.g., Engineering turbine components or smelting hardware that operate at higher thermodynamic thresholds to extract more net energy per unit of fuel or ore consumed. Autonomy: Embedding advanced telemetry and edge-computing modules directly into sub-surface equipment, enabling real-time structural analysis and autonomous adjustments.Innovation here centers on the real-world impact within the field, prioritizing workforce safety, the mitigation of environmental impact at operational sites, and the absolute continuity of public utilities.
Safety: e.g., Designing failsafe isolating mechanisms or explosion-proof enclosures that eliminate human risk during high-pressure extractions or hazardous grid events. Resilience: e.g., Hardware engineered to detect and isolate electrical faults or pipeline leaks in milliseconds, preventing widespread outages or ecological contamination. Footprint reduction: e.g., Products that allow extraction or utility companies to use significantly less water, chemicals, or electrical power during heavy mineral processing. We celebrate the products that are bringing legacy heavy industry into the modern era, upending traditional resource economics, or making the transition to cleaner industrial operations a physical reality.
Decarbonizing heavy industry: Introducing a piece of refining or extraction equipment that successfully swaps fossil-fuel reliance for clean electricity or hydrogen power on a massive scale. Zero-waste supply chain: Developing modular recycling or processing systems that extract high-value rare earth metals directly from industrial tailing ponds or scrap materials. Democratizing infrastructure: e.g., Engineering rugged, low-maintenance micro-utility hardware that allows isolated mining sites or remote communities to manage their own energy, water, or grid systems safely.Product Awards: Optional Sample Submission
In order to showcase your product to our judging team in the fullest, we accept product samples. This helps our judges test your product, and afford it a more detailed write-up should you win an award.
The Product Itself
Gives our judges a ‘hands on’ opportunity to test and evaluate the product.
A Product Demo
Send a recording of the product in action to give a feel for the product in use.
Guides & Materials
User guides, brochures, or other materials can help judges visualize the product in action.
Product samples of any kind are not a requirement, and those that do not provide one will not be penalized. All samples are withheld, and you must pay all shipping fees and relevant taxes. Indicate on your submission form if you would like to submit a sample, and our team will assist.
